Game Debriefing Scenarios

The AIBotOrNot? Game has been designed as a group playing and learning experience, rather than for individual players. Nevertheless, if after playing, individuals are interested in questions like “What is behind this Game?” or “What can I learn from this Game?”, they can structure and support their self-learning process with the material included in the "Boost Your Skills" section. In fact, independently if played by an individual or a group, the AIBotOrNot? Game provides a basis to:

related to AI-Human interaction and the opportunities and challenges of Conversational AI. These are also the 3 building blocks supporting the game debriefing process.

You can find detailed information about the Debriefing Building Blocks in the "Boost Your Skills" section.

Playing the Game as an Individual

This Game is much more fun and insightful when played with others, ideally in a Team. In fact, both the playing (let’s address a challenge) and the debriefing (what can we learn from this experience?) can greatly profit from human interaction. Nevertheless, to best debrief their game experience, individuals are invited to:

1.  Play the Game a few times – using the 3 Statements Sets available on the Game Homepage.

2.  Move to the "Boost Your Skills" section and start their individual reflection by reviewing the Insights Section

3.  Review the Principles Section

4.  Conclude by reviewing the Capabilities section and the Special Section on Attention to Details

A natural follow up consists in:

Playing with a Group:

From Icebraker to a Source of Insights & Learning

When played by small or large groups (during a course, a workshop, a meeting, a conference, …) the Game can be deployed as an efficient icebreaker and flow in the following way.

First a decision should be taken if the group of Participants will be divided in Teams or if everybody will play individually.

Playing individually is faster (5 minutes max) while Teams should be given 10 to 15 minutes to play the Game assessing and finding a consensus on all the 5 Statements they will be presented with.

Playing in Teams provides for a richer experience, as Participants not only interact with the Game, but also with their team members, profiting from different perspectives and insights, and challenged to find rapidly an agreement on the 5 decisions they will have to take together.

Second, all the Participants/Teams should be invited to visit the Game Homepage  and click on one of the 3 Set of Statements available in the “Try it Out” section to start playing the Game. It is up to the Facilitator (Game Master) to instruct the Participants/Teams to use the same Statements Set or not (more information on how to customize the Game Experience to a given session/group or a given set of statements is described in the “Becoming a SuperUser” section).

Third, after finishing the Game every Participant/Team will be able to see their Results, compare their inputs with the Correct Answers, and even see the results of other players responding to the same Statements Set.

The “AI Bot Index” is built on averaging the inputs (for each Statement the Participants/Teams will have selected either “H” for Human or “A” for AI Bot and provided a Certainty Level displayed in the following column). It expresses the probability that each Statement is produced by an AI Bot rather than by a Human.

Fourth, the debriefing of the AIBotOrNot? Game as an icebraker depends on the time the group is able and interested to dedicate to the subject. A rapid closure can be achieved by:

If more time is available for a longer debriefing, the "Boost Your Skills" section provides several material and suggestions on how to design an effective and intersting debriefing session. All the concrete examples of statements that you will find there, particularly in the Attention to Detail section, will help you challenging further your Participants in developing the capability to recognize if they are interacting with an AI Bot, or with a Human.
